Forehead lines/wrinkles appear horizontally across the forehead. These can be dynamic (that appear due to the ‘frontalis’ facial muscle contraction i.e. during facial expression) or static (present even when the face is at rest).
Forehead lines/wrinkles are the earliest lines to appear as we age. Several factors contribute to the development of the forehead lines. These include the age-related changes, UV skin damage, smoking and genetic factors.
At Clapham Skin Clinic, we offer a range of treatments for treating forehead lines. Botox® in combination with dermal fillers are the mainstay of treating forehead lines. The Botox® injection is effective in reducing/eliminating the forehead lines. Best results with Botox® are achieved when treating dynamic lines due to contraction of ‘’Frontalis muscle’’. For more deeper lines, Botox® in combination with low molecular weight dermal filler such as Juvederm® Ultra 2 and Juvederm® Volbella can produce a more satisfactory result.
We are sorry to say we do not treat the Forehead area on its own, this area must be treated in conjunction with the Frown area in order to avoid any complications. This will be considered 2 areas (Frown plus Forehead).
Bruising is the main side effect. If treated with Botox®, it is best to also treat the frown area to avoid eye brow drooping.
